About this race
The EcoTrail Wicklow 80K, the longest race in the series, starts and finishes on Bray's seafront promenade, in Co. Wicklow. From the promenade, runners climb Bray Head before heading into the Wicklow Mountains National Park proper. The early stages cross rocky trail over the Little and Great Sugarloaf mountains, past the Kilruddery Estate, on the way to the Wicklow Way. The middle section mixes trail types and short stretches of quiet road, passing the Powerscourt Waterfall and the Lough Tay viewpoint, known locally as the Guinness Lake, before a loop of the upgraded Roundwood Reservoir trails marks the start of the return journey to Bray via the Belmont Estate. Finishers arrive back at the seafront as dusk settles over Dublin Bay. A cut-off point allows runners to drop down onto the 46km event near the 24km mark if needed.
