About this race
The Dublin Simon Home Run 5k is run on a dedicated loop through Phoenix Park in Dublin, using exclusive parkland roads that start and finish near the Papal Cross triangle. The entirely tarmac course is flat to gently rolling and designed to be welcoming for walkers, joggers, runners, buggies, and wheelchair users alike. As a community fundraiser supporting the Dublin Simon Community, the event features a vibrant festival village with live music, food, and family entertainment. Participants who raise 50 euro will receive a free t-shirt featuring the slogan "This t-shirt paid for a warm bed for someone in need." This makes the day as much a meaningful community gathering as it is an accessible run through one of the city's best-loved parks.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind.
