About this race
Run the Line 13km, the short course of this Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team fundraiser, starts and finishes at Glencullen Adventure Park in the Dublin Mountains. The route gives a genuine taste of the mountains without committing to the full distance, crossing a mix of forest paths, single track, fire roads and open hillside. There is a solid amount of climbing packed into the shorter distance, with the terrain switching regularly between sheltered woodland and exposed open ground where the wind can be a factor. From the higher sections there are sweeping views back over Dublin city and county, one of the highlights of the route. The course is well marked and marshalled by the mountain rescue team it supports, with wave starts used to manage the field. It suits confident hillwalkers and newer trail runners looking to step up from road running into proper mountain terrain.
