Westport Half Marathon

The Westport Half Marathon starts in the Quay area of Westport, on the same start line as the 10k, and finishes at the Westport Boat Park on The Quay. The route heads out of the town along the shore of Clew Bay on the Wild Atlantic Way, running along the coast road through Murrisk before turning back towards Westport. The return uses a different road from the outward leg, taking runners back through the countryside and into the town. The course is almost entirely on paved road. The profile has a steady climb in the opening kilometres, then a long, mostly flat and gently rolling run along the bay, with one more short rise late on before the flat final stretch to the Quay. Routes are provisional and subject to change, so runners should check the official route map. The half marathon is held alongside the marathon and 10k.
