Westport 10k

The Westport 10k starts in the Quay area of Westport, on the same start line as the half marathon, and finishes at the Westport Boat Park on The Quay. The route leaves the Quay and heads out along the shore of Clew Bay on the coast road, before looping back to Westport by a different, inland road rather than retracing the outward leg. The course is almost entirely on paved road. The profile has a steady climb through the first four kilometres or so, followed by a long, gradual descent back towards the town, with one short rise late in the race before a flat run to the finish by the Quay. The 10k starts at 8:45am, and runs alongside the half marathon and marathon. Routes are provisional and subject to change, so runners should check the official 10k route map before race day.
