About this race
The North West 10K starts on Pearse Road in Letterkenny, County Donegal, heading towards the Tesco Roundabout before continuing out along the Port Road. The route then follows the N56 from the Polestar Roundabout towards Ballyraine Campus, before joining the R940 Ramelton Road and looping back via the R229 to the Station Roundabout. From there, runners make their way back through the town to finish at Letterkenny Community Centre. The course is entirely on closed and traffic-managed public roads, run on a Bank Holiday Monday morning each May. Now in its 29th year, the event has raised well over a million euro for local charities since 1997, with entrants free to run, jog or walk the distance. Organised by a dedicated local committee, it remains one of Donegal's most popular community road races, drawing well over a thousand participants each year in support of a rotating group of local causes.
