About this race
The BDN 10KM starts around 500 metres from Ballinderreen Community Centre, on the north side of the village in south Galway, and finishes back at the centre. Runners head west on country roads towards the shore of Galway Bay before turning south-east and then south, passing along the edge of a lake. The route then runs east along a country road before turning north and heading back up towards Ballinderreen for the finish. The course is run entirely on tarmac and organisers describe it as flat and fast, with a downhill start and a slight incline around the ninth kilometre. It is gently undulating, with only small rises along the way. The course is AAI certified, and water, tea and food are served after the finish at the community centre.
