About this race
The Donadea 50k is run in Donadea Forest Park in County Kildare and consists of ten laps of a 5 km loop. Each lap starts and finishes near the lake and follows forest tracks around the edge of the woodland, running south along the western side, then east along the southern boundary and north along the eastern edge back to the start area. The surface is mostly dirt forest paths with a short paved section on each lap. Each lap has one gradual rise and fall, giving a gently undulating profile with no long climbs. The race is organised by Donadea Running Club and also serves as the Irish national 50k championship. The race has a long history, with the 2027 edition billed as the 17th running, and places have sold out in previous years.
