About this race

The Tullaroan Festival of Running 10k is organised by Tullaroan Athletics Club and forms part of the multi-distance festival in the rolling hills of Tullaroan, Co. Kilkenny. The 10k course follows a looped route on rural roads, leaving the main marathon circuit at the 5.5km mark before rejoining it at approximately 8km, with all competitors sharing the final 2km to the finish in the village. The terrain is characterised by undulating countryside roads with gently rolling hills and scenic Kilkenny farmland throughout. The event includes chip timing, a finisher's t-shirt, and a bespoke medal. Post-race food and drink are available at the finish. The Tullaroan hills make this a popular and moderately challenging 10k course for runners of all abilities.

Course profile & record eligibility

World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
