About this race
The Cork Rebel Run 10k is an annual community road race now in its 14th year, taking place on Sunday 18 October 2026 at MTU Cork Campus in Bishopstown, Cork City. Organised by Cork Sports Partnership, MTU Sports Department and Leisureworld Cork, and sponsored by Cork County Council and Cork City Council, the 10k starts from the MTU tiered carpark and heads on road through the quiet county roads of the Bishopstown area for approximately 7km, passing through Rossbrook Estate and continuing via Model Farm Road to Minister's Cross, Clash Road, Curraheen village and the Marymount Roundabout. The route then joins the Curraheen Riverwalk for the final 3km before finishing on the MTU Athletics Track. The event is chip timed and each participant receives a goody bag including a special edition gift and water bottle.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
