About this race
The Wicklow Santa Dash 10K starts and finishes at Tinahely Community Hall in Co. Wicklow, run as an out-and-back course on the public roads around the town. As with the shorter distance, the opening kilometre is entirely downhill, giving runners a fast start, with the return leg routed away from that same hill rather than back up it. The course is run entirely on tarmac country roads and, unlike the 5K, is open to runners only rather than walkers. Entrants can choose from a selection of Christmas-themed finisher medals, with festive fancy dress encouraged throughout. Held alongside the shorter 5K on the same out-and-back route, the Santa Dash has become a popular pre-Christmas fixture in South Wicklow, drawing club runners and casual participants from Wicklow and beyond each December.
