About this race
The Sallins Community Run 10k starts and finishes at the Scout Den in Old Bridge Park, Sallins, County Kildare. Organised by the 23rd Kildare (Sallins) Scout Group, the chip-timed course takes runners further out onto the roads and paths surrounding the village on the banks of the Grand Canal than the accompanying shorter 5k, which starts alongside it on the same morning. The event is designed as a genuine community occasion, welcoming competitive club runners as well as those simply taking part for fun. On-the-day registration is available from 9:30am at the Scout Den for those who haven't entered online in advance. As a fundraiser for the local scout group, the event supports the ongoing running of scouting activities in Sallins, drawing a strong turnout from the village and surrounding area each year for this well-established autumn fixture.
