About this race
The Grange 10k is an annual road race organised by North Sligo AC in the village of Grange in north County Sligo, typically held on the first Sunday of October at 11am. The course starts and finishes in the village near the North Sligo Sports Complex, which also serves as race headquarters for registration, refreshments and prize giving. The course is flat and fast throughout, running on quiet roads in and around the village of Grange, set between the Dartry Mountains and the Atlantic coast of north Sligo. The area is one of the most scenic in Connacht, with views of Benbulben and the surrounding landscape. The race has excellent PB potential and draws runners from across the northwest each year. The event is AAI permitted and chip timed, with prizes across all standard age categories. Walkers are also welcome.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
