The Royal Canal Run Half Marathon features a multi-loop paved course that starts and finishes at the Longford Slashers GAA Club, situated right beside the tranquil waters of the Royal Canal. The route follows the scenic canal banks, navigating a sheltered loop that provides participants with expansive views of the local waterways and historic stone bridges. The terrain is exceptionally flat and fast, utilizing a combination of smooth tarmac and tightly packed gravel that is ideal for those chasing a personal best.
