About this race

The Armagh 10 Mile Road Race starts and finishes at the Navan Centre on the Killylea Road, on the outskirts of Armagh city. The route winds through the beautiful countryside surrounding Eamhain Macha, better known as Navan Fort, the legendary ancient royal site where Cuchulain is said to have trained with the Red Branch Knights. The course is entirely on road, taking in rolling rural lanes around the historic site rather than urban streets, with the surrounding landscape giving the race a genuinely scenic, atmospheric backdrop. Organised by Armagh AC in association with Digby's and Tarisis, and supported by more than 50 marshals and volunteers, the race welcomes several hundred entrants each year. It runs alongside a shorter 6k Fun Run over similar terrain, making the event accessible to a wide range of runners, from competitive club athletes to those taking on the shorter distance for the first time.
