About this race
The FASN 5K & Family Fun Run is a road-based, chipped and timed race starting on the pedestrian walkway beside Friary School on Anne Street, Dundalk, County Louth. The route runs the length of the walkway, with the start and finish points roughly 200 metres apart, taking participants on a route through the local community rather than a looped course. The event welcomes everyone from seasoned runners to first-time 5K participants, walkers and families, with the overall emphasis firmly on inclusion and community spirit. Registration takes place at Dominican Friary Hall on race morning, close to the start. Cash prizes are awarded to the top three men and women, along with category prizes for the first over-65 and first under-18 finishers. Held in aid of the Family Addiction Support Network, the event raises vital funds and awareness for families affected by a loved one's substance misuse across the North East.
