About this race
The Life Style Sports Fastlane Autumn Edition Half Marathon covers two laps of a certified 10km loop set along Dublin's Grand Canal and through the newly resurfaced Grange Castle Business Park in Clondalkin. Starting and finishing on a green space beside the canal, each lap follows the towpath before looping through the business park and back along the water. The course is flat and fast, with long straight stretches and just 27 metres of elevation gain per loop, making it a genuinely PB-friendly half marathon course. The surface is entirely tarmac throughout, and the repeated loop format means clear water stations and consistent crowd support at several points on the route. Held just off the M50 with good access by car, bus and train, the race is fully measured, marshalled and chip timed, finishing with a medal and a lively race village.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
