About this race
The Old Parish Turkey Trot 5 Mile is a memorial race in the Old Parish area near Dungarvan in County Waterford, with registration based at the Marine Bar in Pulla. The route is a loop through rural countryside with woodland nearby. Leaving the start, the course heads east and then curves south along the eastern side of the loop, before turning back on a long diagonal to the south-west. The final leg returns north along the western side of the loop towards the finish. The course is hilly overall, with a long gradual climb through the middle section to a high point late in the race, followed by a descent and a small rise before a downhill run to the finish. Organised by West Waterford AC since 2007, it raises funds for local charities, with prizes and refreshments afterwards at the Marine Bar.
