About this race
The Drogheda Christmas 5K starts and finishes at Lourdes Stadium in Drogheda, County Louth, organised by Drogheda & District AC. The course opens with a lap of the stadium track before heading out through Boyle O'Reilly Terrace and up Ballymakenny Road towards Listoke House, offering a fast downhill stretch along the way. From there the route makes a 180-degree turn and retraces its path back to the stadium, finishing with a triumphant lap of the track. The course is entirely on road and track, flat and fast, with a reputation as a genuine PB course among regular racers. The event has grown into one of the biggest festive 5Ks in the North East, drawing elite athletes and fun runners alike from clubs across Leinster and beyond, alongside a separate Santa Dash for children. Proceeds support the ongoing development of Drogheda & District AC's facilities.
