About this race
Run the Night Cork is an evening 5 mile run that starts and finishes at the Marina Market on Cork's Centre Park Road, setting off after dark under event lighting. The route follows the Marina Promenade along the River Lee, taking in Atlantic Pond and passing Páirc Uí Chaoimh before looping back to the start. Run almost entirely on the flat, traffic-free paths of the Marina and the surrounding waterside amenity areas, the course is fast and accessible, making it popular with both competitive runners and first-timers taking on their first timed road race. The riverside setting and string lighting along the route give the event a festive, community atmosphere despite the February date, with music and entertainment at the finish. Entirely on paved paths with no significant climbs, it's one of the flatter evening races on the Cork calendar and raises funds for local charitable causes each year.
