About this race

The Maguiresbridge 5 Mile is one of the most popular road races in County Fermanagh, organised by Maguiresbridge Running Club. Known locally as the M5M, the event takes place in the village of Maguiresbridge and the surrounding countryside of south Fermanagh. The five mile course is described as a hilly route, taking runners through the rolling drumlin landscape that characterises this part of the county. The terrain provides a genuine challenge with a number of climbs across the course. Chip timing, a bespoke medal and t-shirt, and warm Fermanagh hospitality are included in the event. It attracts a strong field of runners from across the north and west of Ireland and is well established as a highlight of the summer running calendar in Ulster.

Course profile & record eligibility

World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
