About this race

The Maguiresbridge 5km is the shorter distance option at the M5M event, one of County Fermanagh's most popular road races, organised by Maguiresbridge Running Club. The 5km course takes a relatively straight and flat route through the Maguiresbridge area in south Fermanagh, offering a more accessible option alongside the hilly five mile race. Both distances start from the village of Maguiresbridge, set in the drumlin landscape of the Erne Valley. The event is chip timed and includes a bespoke finisher's medal and t-shirt. It is well known for its welcoming atmosphere and strong community involvement, drawing runners of all abilities from across Ulster and beyond. The race forms part of a well-established summer running programme in Fermanagh and is a fixture in the northern athletics calendar.

Course profile & record eligibility

World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
