About this race
The Very Pink Run Dublin 5k is a family-focused fun run, jog, walk or wheel based at Leopardstown Racecourse in south County Dublin, organised by Breast Cancer Ireland as a major fundraiser for its research and awareness work. The 5k course follows the grounds and surrounding paths of the racecourse setting, on an accessible and largely flat route designed to welcome men, women and children of all abilities rather than to chase fast times. The event is not chip timed and has a relaxed, celebratory feel, attracting a sea of participants dressed in pink. Beyond the run itself, the morning features a pinktastic showcase with music, face painters and family entertainment, and the entry includes a t-shirt, race bib and finishing medal. With thousands turning out each year in support of those affected by breast cancer, the 5k offers a fun, inclusive and uplifting community occasion in an attractive parkland-style venue.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
