About this race
The Run The Banner: Carron 10k serves as the invigorating finale of the Clare summer series, set amidst the iconic limestone landscapes of the Burren. This single-loop road route guides participants through rolling countryside lanes, offering a mix of spirited climbs and breathtaking panoramic views unique to North Clare. While the terrain is naturally undulating, the course is highly rewarding for those seeking an authentic rural racing experience and a warm community atmosphere. Runners finish in the heart of the village, where local hospitality awaits after the season's final challenge
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
