About this race
Leg It for LARCC is a 5km run and walk held in the grounds of the LARCC Centre in Multyfarnham, Co. Westmeath, in aid of Cancer Support Sanctuary LARCC. The event starts and finishes at the LARCC Centre car park on the Coole Road, with the course heading out onto the surrounding roads and lanes of the Multyfarnham area before looping back to the grounds for the finish. Run on a mix of local roads, the course suits walkers and runners of all abilities rather than being aimed at fast times. The event is chip-timed and AAI sanctioned, and is followed by a family fun day at the centre, with refreshments, medals and children's entertainment. As LARCC is funded almost entirely through public donations, the run is one of its main fundraising events of the year, drawing strong local support.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
