About this race
The Elevate Credit Union Charity 5k takes place entirely within Tramore Valley Park, a large public park in Cork City accessed via the South Link Road. The course follows the park's main perimeter track, an open grassland loop with grass on either side rather than mature woodland, giving a largely exposed, flat run. The only notable rise comes near the recycling centre, a modest climb of no more than 10 to 15 metres that still slows runners after a fast start. The surface is smooth, hard-packed track throughout, suitable for road shoes. Runners, joggers, walkers and buggies are all welcome, making it a genuinely family-friendly event. A €100 bonus is on offer for anyone who breaks the course record. Now in its seventh year, all proceeds support Meals on Wheels and the Irish Kidney Association's Munster Branch, continuing Elevate Credit Union's tradition of backing a different local cause each year.
