Kerry Way UltraNite 101k

The Kerry Way UltraNite is a 101km overnight ultra along The Kerry Way, starting on Friday evening at Dromid, near Waterville, and finishing at Killarney Racecourse the following day. Runners head out from Waterville through Caherdaniel and on to Sneem, largely in darkness, before continuing via Templenoe and Kenmare towards Killarney. The route follows the official Kerry Way trail across the Iveragh Peninsula, taking in rugged mountain paths, boggy sections, forest tracks and stretches close to the Atlantic coast, with the MacGillycuddy's Reeks visible in the distance. The terrain is genuinely mountainous and technical throughout, run almost entirely through the night with head torches mandatory. The final miles pass through Killarney National Park, finishing via Torc Waterfall. Self-sufficient between crew stops at Caherdaniel, Sneem, Templenoe and Kenmare, it's a serious test of navigation and endurance set against some of Ireland's most scenic and remote landscape.
