About this race
The Kerry Way UltraLite is a 58km ultra along The Kerry Way, starting on Saturday morning at Sneem and finishing at Killarney Racecourse the same day. Runners head out from Sneem Community Centre through Templenoe and on to Kenmare, following the official Kerry Way trail across the Iveragh Peninsula. The route takes in rugged mountain paths, forest tracks and open countryside, with views towards the MacGillycuddy's Reeks and Kenmare Bay along the way. The terrain is genuinely hilly and technical rather than flat, reflecting the natural character of the Kerry Way itself. The final section passes through Killarney National Park, finishing via Torc Waterfall into the racecourse. Self-sufficient between crew stops at Templenoe and Kenmare, it's designed as the most accessible of the Kerry Way Ultra events, offering a genuine taste of the full route's mountain scenery in a single daylight stage.
