The Irish Runner 5mile follows a loop through Phoenix Park, starting on the level Chesterfield Avenue before a significant descent on Upper Glen Road between miles 1.5 and 2.5. This is followed by a steady one-mile climb toward the 15 Acres area, a section often characterized by open terrain and headwinds. The course then levels out for the final half-mile on Furze Road, providing a flat surface to the finish line.
