About this race
The Clontarf Half Marathon July edition begins and ends at EastPoint Business Park, serving as the gateway to a stunning coastal running experience. This scenic out-and-back route leads participants along the Clontarf Promenade and across to the unique landscape of Bull Island. Runners enjoy breathtaking views of Dublin Bay and Howth Head while passing local landmarks like the historic wooden bridge and St. Anne's Park. Renowned as one of the flattest and fastest courses in Ireland, the terrain consists of smooth tarmac and well-maintained promenade paths.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
