About this race
The Brandon Bay 10k begins and ends at Fahamore in the Maharees, serving as the gateway to this unique all-beach running event. The 10k course follows a scenic out-and-back route entirely on the golden sands, wrapping around the bay with spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Slieve Mish mountains. Participants are guided by the majesty of Mount Brandon as they navigate the wide, open coastline of the Dingle Peninsula. The terrain is notably flat and fast, consisting of solid sand that provides a firm surface, though runners may cross small mountain streams depending on the weather. This professional event offers a truly immersive coastal challenge on one of Ireland's longest and most beautiful beaches.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
