About this race
The Ballymena Belles Ladies 5mile Race is a women-only chip-timed road race starting at Galgorm Industrial Park, near Galgorm Community Centre outside Ballymena. Runners head into Galgorm village before proceeding along the main Galgorm Road towards Ahoghill, with a gradual incline followed by quieter country roads leading back down into the village. The final mile follows a tarmac path around the Wright Bus site before finishing on the football pitches at Galgorm Community Centre. The first four miles are on public roads. The course is gently rolling with one notable gradual climb, offering a well-marshalled and sociable evening race.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
