About this race
The Belfast Bay Run 10k takes place on Sunday 4 October 2026 at 9am, starting and finishing in the marketplace of the iconic Titanic Quarter in east Belfast. The closed-road course winds through the historic Titanic Quarter and surrounding waterfront roads, taking runners along the docklands with views across Belfast Bay and past landmarks associated with the city's legendary shipbuilding heritage, including the site where the RMS Titanic was built. The course is flat throughout and well suited to personal best attempts and first-time 10k runners. Organised by Future Sports Events, the race is chip timed with water stations, medical teams and marshals on course. All finishers receive an official medal and a head buff. Race numbers are posted to participants in advance and a race village with refreshments is located at the start and finish area.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
