About this race
The Youghal Bay 10k begins on North Main Street in the heart of the historic town, sharing its vibrant starting point with the half marathon. The single-lap route guides runners through the town's medieval streets, passing the iconic Clock Gate Tower before heading toward the scenic Front Strand and the local Greenway. This course is exceptionally flat and fast, designed specifically for participants looking to achieve a personal best on a smooth, paved surface. As the path follows the coastline, runners are treated to expansive views of the bay and the lighthouse before looping back toward the town center.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
