About this race
The Garrafrauns Dunmore 6k is an annual point-to-point road race held on the August Bank Holiday Monday as part of the Dunmore Annual Festival. The route runs approximately 6km from Garrafrauns village along the R328 road, finishing in Dunmore town. Starting in the small rural village of Garrafrauns and finishing in Dunmore town centre at the GAA pitch, the course follows public roads through the north Galway countryside and is run entirely on tarmac. A shuttle bus operates from Dunmore Square to the start at Garrafrauns. Chip-timed by Core Timing, the race is open to runners and walkers of all abilities and feeds into the broader Dunmore Festival Sports Day programme.
