About this race
The Dublin City Half Marathon begins in the heart of the capital on O'Connell Street and follows a single-loop route that showcases the city’s vibrant Northside neighborhoods. Runners depart from the historic GPO, navigating broad urban avenues and iconic city-centre streets before looping back to a grandstand finish in the heart of Dublin. The terrain is notably flat and fast, making it an ideal choice for participants chasing personal bests on a smooth tarmac surface. With energetic support from local residents and a traffic-free circuit, the course offers a unique perspective of Dublin's urban landscape.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
