About this race
The Drivalia Sandyford 5K is a popular evening road race set entirely within the Sandyford Business District in south Dublin. Organised by Dundrum South Dublin Athletic Club, the course starts on Corrig Road and finishes on Ravens Rock Road, taking runners through the roads of the business park on a fast, largely flat route. Established in 2015, the event has grown from a primarily corporate challenge into a community-wide race welcoming runners of all abilities. The race attracts over 700 participants each year and forms part of Sandyford Business District's annual Wellness Week. A technical t-shirt and finisher medal are included with entry, and a post-race prize-giving is held at Race HQ.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
