About this race
The Clane AC 4 Mile Road Race starts and finishes at the club's track on the grounds of Scoil Mhuire Community School in Clane, County Kildare, as the closing race of the club's 4 Mile Series. Described as a fast, single-lap course, the route heads out onto the flat roads around the Butterstream area of Clane before returning to the school track. The surface is entirely tarmac, with the course record standing at 20:16, set back in 2019, reflecting genuinely quick conditions for a road four-miler. Cash prizes are on offer for the overall male and female winners, along with a bonus for anyone who breaks the course record, plus prizes for the first Clane AC men and women home. Held on a Friday evening in late August, the race finishes with the club's well-regarded post-race refreshments back at the track.
