About this race
The County Antrim Harriers Mayfair 5k starts and finishes at Ballyclare Rugby Club in Ballyclare, Co. Antrim. The course runs on the public roads of Ballyclare and includes some challenging hills before returning to the rugby club finish line. Organised annually by County Antrim Harriers to coincide with the Ballyclare May Fair, the event is chip-timed and open to runners of all abilities. The first 500 entries are guaranteed a technical t-shirt and finisher medal. Prizes are awarded to top male and female finishers across open and age-category divisions. A lead bike guides the 5k field throughout. Road closures are in place and ratified by Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council and the PSNI. Race packs can be collected at the rugby club on Friday evening or from 8am on race morning.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
