About this race

The County Antrim Harriers Mayfair 10k starts and finishes at Ballyclare Rugby Club in Ballyclare, Co. Antrim, running on the public roads of Ballyclare with a lead car guiding the field throughout the course. The route includes some challenging hills, giving participants a tough but rewarding race through this north Antrim town. Organised annually by County Antrim Harriers to coincide with the Ballyclare May Fair, the event is chip-timed and attracts competitive and recreational runners from across the province. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers and across age categories. A technical t-shirt and finisher medal are included for the first 500 entries. Water stations are at approximately 3km and 8km. Road closures are ratified by Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council and the PSNI.

Course profile & record eligibility

World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
