About this race
The Tinryland Village Half Marathon begins and ends in the heart of Tinryland village, conveniently located just off the M9 motorway in rural County Carlow. This scenic course consists of three seven-kilometer laps that guide participants through the charming local countryside and lush green fields. Runners enjoy a picturesque journey through the heart of the county, passing by historic landmarks while experiencing the warm hospitality of the local community. The terrain is characterized as relatively flat and fast, though it features some rolling hills that provide a gentle and manageable challenge.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
