About this race
The Splashworld 10K is a popular and well-established Friday evening road race held in the seaside resort of Tramore, Co. Waterford, organised in association with Tramore Athletic Club. The course starts and finishes at Splashworld on Railway Square and follows a flat, fast out-and-back route taking in the length of Tramore's iconic seafront promenade. The course is renowned for being one of the flattest and fastest 5K and 10K routes in the county, drawing runners from across Munster each year. A 5K race also takes place on the same evening. Post-race, participants can avail of Splashworld's changing rooms and pool facilities. The event is chip-timed and includes prizes for the top finishers across categories.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
