About this race
The Rose of Tralee 5k is a chip-timed road race held on the streets of Tralee as part of the annual Féile Thrá Lí, which runs alongside the renowned Rose of Tralee International Festival. The course starts on Neil Armstrong Way and takes runners on a scenic route through the town centre, passing along Strand Street and through the heart of Tralee before finishing on Denny Street. The urban course is broadly flat and provides a lively race-day atmosphere, with large festival crowds lining the route throughout. Every participant receives a bespoke Rose of Tralee finisher medal and technical t-shirt. The race is timed by Timing Solutions Ireland. Number collection takes place the evening before the race.

World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind.
