About this race
The MB Chicken Lisburn Half Marathon is one of Northern Ireland's largest and most popular running events, attracting over 6,000 participants annually. Organised by Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council, the 2026 edition takes place on Wednesday 17 June starting from Lagan Valley LeisurePlex in Lisburn Leisure Park. The course follows a flat and fast one-lap route through the streets of Lisburn, incorporating a traffic-free section through the Eikon Centre and Maze Long Kesh site. The route starts and finishes at the LeisurePlex. A 10km road race and 3km fun run take place on the same day. The event is fully chip timed and inclusive, with wheelchair and hand cycle participants welcome.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
