Lough Key Forest Park 5k

The Lough Key Forest Park 5K starts and finishes in the Lough Key Forest and Activity Park area on the shore of Lough Key near Boyle. The route heads out from the lakeside start along park tracks and turns west into the woodland above Erris Bay, where it loops around on forest paths before returning along the main park road towards the finish near the car park. It is mostly off road, with a mix of forest track and dirt paths and some paved sections, and the course is largely flat with one short climb around the 3.5km mark followed by a gradual descent back to the finish. The course is chip timed. It is run alongside a 10K over a longer loop on the same trails and is organised by North West Roscommon GAA as the Chris O'Dowd Challenge.
