About this race

The Killeagh 4mile follows a single-loop paved course through the rural roads of East Cork, starting and finishing near the Killeagh GAA grounds. The route begins with a gradual climb over the first 1.4miles before transitioning into a steady downhill middle section. The final third of the course is predominantly level, navigating quiet country lanes with minimal traffic back toward the village. The race concludes at the gates of the GAA complex after a final flat approach.

Course profile & record eligibility

World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.

Loop Course type
2m limit 6.4m Start/finish drop
0.52km limit 3.2km Start/finish separation
