About this race
The Ennis Summer Solstice 10k is a popular summer evening road race organised by JustRace and held each year on a quiet country road course in Ennis, Co. Clare. The event is based from Lees Road Sports Centre in Ennis, with the chip-timed course taking runners out along local roads in the surrounding area. The route is fully marshalled and accurately measured, on tarmac roads, and is open to runners, joggers and walkers of all abilities. The course is described as flat to gently undulating, making it accessible to a wide range of participants, from first-timers to those chasing personal bests. Prize categories are available and the event has grown steadily in popularity as one of the Clare running calendar's signature summer fixtures.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
