About this race
The Dublin BHAA Irish Life 5mile race is held in Dunboyne, Co Meath, on a Tuesday evening in late May. The course follows a loop of the country roads around Dunboyne, starting and finishing at Dunboyne Athletic Club on Rooske Road. The route is broadly flat with some minor rolling sections on the rural roads of east Meath, and is well-regarded as a fast course where personal bests are regularly set. Registration and changing facilities are available at the Scouts Den and club house. The Winter League prize-giving traditionally takes place at this race.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
