About this race
The Cork BHAA Musgrave 5k follows a scenic route through Marina Park along the south bank of the River Lee. Starting and finishing near Páirc Uí Chaoimh, the course winds east along the Marina waterfront towards Holland Park before looping back through the Showgrounds area and returning to the finish. The route is predominantly paved, with a mixed surface section through the parkland paths of Marina Park. The course is largely flat and fast, with only minor undulation throughout, making it well suited to runners chasing personal bests. The riverside setting provides a pleasant backdrop, with views across the Lee and through one of Cork city's most popular recreational green spaces. The out-and-back loop format keeps the course simple and spectator-friendly.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
