About this race
The Podium4Sport Seeley Cup 10k is run on a flat, fully paved course along the River Lagan and through Ormeau Park in south Belfast. The race starts on the Ormeau Embankment and finishes inside the park. The route follows the riverside path beside the Lagan, then works its way around the park, using the main paths on the eastern side by Ravenhill Road and the central paths before returning towards the river. Runners make several passes along the park's long north to south paths, so the course is made up of straight, fast sections linked by tight turns rather than a single point to point line. The profile is flat, with only minor rises along the way. First staged in 1982 and organised by Willowfield Harriers, it is one of the longest-running 10ks in Northern Ireland and attracts a strong field.
